Black Skin

                                                                         Trayvon Martin

Most of America is getting up to the minute information on the horrible tragic murder of Trayvon Martin.  African Americans are well aware of being judged by the color of their skin on a daily basis.
Heck, I saw a White gentrifier in New York's Harlem at noon just today, holding her purse so tight that I wanted to snatch it just on GP.  And while she was walking by, two cops were harassing a young Black male who was on his own block just hangin out.  Asking him for ID and making him "move along".

But when President Barach Obama says, "You know, if I had a son he would look like Trayvon."
I said to myself, "Wow, it's pretty cool that not only do we have a President that pays attention to what's going on in America, but that this Black man is on point and that he identifies with this issue of race in America."

If I ever got a chance to speak to President Obama, I'd say..."Hey Mr. President, I know why you said what you said about Trayvon Martin, and I know why you get it"...

"It's Because You're Black!"
